Lourdes 1.5 hours  
Lourdes, the candlelight procession Following the apparitions of Our Lady of Lourdes to Bernadette Soubirous in 1858, Lourdes has developed into a major place of Christian pilgrimage, receiving visitors from all over the world. The spring water from the Grotto is believed by some to possess healing properties. Especially impressive are candlelight and sacrament processions.

2008 sees the 150th anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady.

Toulouse, le pont neuf Toulouse, known as the Ville Rose ("Pink City") for its distinctive brick architecture, is host to a rich and diverse culture. Toulouse is home to the European aerospace industry and is now the fastest growing metropolitan area in Europe. Toulouse radiates with a show of festivals, museums, theatres, restaurants and cafes.

Carcassonne, le Cite de Carcassonne Carcassonne is separated into the beautiful fortified Cité de Carcassonne and the more expansive lower city, the ville basse. This medieval city built in the 12th century was restored in the mid 19th century after falling into serious disrepair.

A wonderful day out with guided tours and gallery talks, with cobbled stone paving, scattered with outdoor restaurant and cafe tables where you can watch life saunter by.

Auch, Cathédrale Sainte-Marie Auch is known for its Renaissance Cathédrale Sainte-Marie with its magnificent organ, carved stalls and rose stained-glass windows, La Tour d'Armagnac (14th century prison), as well as a statue of d'Artagnan who was based on the real life person Charles de Batz (Comte d'Artagnan), born nearby in the château de Castelmore, and written about by Alexandre Dumas.  
     
Pau 1.5 hours  
Pau, home of the first golf course in France In the centre of Pau there is a magnificent castle, the Château de Pau, famous for being the birthplace of the 16th century king of France Henri IV and was once used by Napoleon as a holiday home during his period of power. It's small garden was tended by Marie Antoinette when she spent much of the summers in the city.

Don't miss the opportunity to take a stroll along the elevated path of the Boulevard des Pyrénées. A walk of only about three-quarters of a kilometre or so from the château to the Parc du Beaumont and the royal Beaumont Park. It has magnificent views of the mountains in the Pyrenees mountain range. Be sure to look at the iron hand-rails for the plaques that tell you which mountain is directly in front of you and how high it is.

Biarritz 2 hours  
Biarritz, sun, sea and surf Biarritz is a vibrant cosmopolitan town with magnificent beaches, golf courses and numerous sporting facilities, not forgetting the surf.

Surfing started in France here in Biarritz and surfers come from all over the world to ride the waves celebrating its birthplace at the much revered Biarritz Surf Festival.

Biarritz's became more renowned in 1854 when Empress Eugenie (the wife of Napoleon III) built a palace on the beach (now the Hôtel du Palais).

Biarritz has long made its fortune from the sea: originally a whaling village, in the 18th century doctors recommended that the ocean at Biarritz had therapeutic properties, inspiring patients to make pilgrimages to the beach for alleged cures for their ailments.
 
     
Perpignan 2 hours  
Perpignan founded around the beginning of the 10th century is both near the Mediterranean Sea and the Spanish border, being the meeting point of all the routes which lead to the seaside and the mountains as well as other cultural environments such as churches, abbeys, Citadels and treasures of art.

Magnificent monuments, such as the Palais des Rois de Majorque, the Castillet, the Loge de Mer or the Campo Santo, prompt us that Perpignan has been part of both Spain and France.

Experience Catalonian cuisine at its best and visit exquisite beaches on the nearby coast.
 
 


Pricing information for holiday rental 2008 per week.

  Fully equipped self catering accommodation, including oven/hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, music centre, DVD player (selection of modern DVD’s available), outside furniture, barbeque. Use of games room in the main house with table tennis-table football and darts.
     
  Rates are for FULL WEEKS, Saturday - Saturday, from 4pm on day of arrival and 10am on day of departure. For 2 week bookings, we offer a £40 discount. For shorter stays (minimum 3 nights), please enquire.
     
  The price includes weekly bed linen and towels, but guests are requested to bring their own pool towels.
     
  A deposit of 25% is required with the reservation, the balance to be paid 6 weeks before arrival.
     
  A returnable security damage deposit of £150 is required with the balance. This is to cover any damage to the property, pool, house or contents.
     
  Accommodation is non smoking.
